—where food, culture, and nutrition meet (and where healthy food doesn’t have to be boring). My love for food has shaped my career as a dietitian and my belief that meals are about more than nutrients—they bring us together.

Learning to use make tasty nutritious food - everyday

Food has always been more than just something we eat. It's part of our culture, our memories, our families, and the way we care for one another. Some of my favourite conversations with clients start with a recipe, a childhood meal, or a question about whether they have to give up the foods they love to be healthy.

The answer is usually no.

I started this blog because I wanted a space to talk about food in a way that feels practical, balanced, and realistic. Nutrition can be confusing, especially when you're trying to make sense of conflicting advice while also wanting to enjoy the foods that are meaningful to you.

Here, I'll be sharing recipes, cooking tips, nutrition insights, and simple ways to build healthier habits without losing sight of culture, flavour, or the joy of eating. As a Registered Dietitian, I believe healthy eating should fit into your life—not the other way around.

You'll also hear me talk a lot about culinary medicine, a field that brings together nutrition science and cooking. It's an approach that looks beyond what we eat and explores how we prepare food, build meals, and develop the skills that make healthy eating sustainable. For me, it's where the evidence meets the kitchen, and it's become an important part of how I work with clients. I'll be sharing more about culinary medicine in another post soon.

Whether we're talking about a traditional family recipe, meal planning for a busy week, improving your gut health, managing diabetes, or simply learning a new way to cook vegetables, my hope is that you'll leave with something useful that you can actually put into practice.

Thank you for being here. I hope this becomes a place where you feel inspired to cook a little more, learn something new, and discover that eating well doesn't have to mean leaving your favourite foods behind.

Till we dine again,

anbudan (with love)

Thevi
